Day to Day Itinerary

2 nights / 2 days walking

Prices from £365pp
DAY ONE

Arrive in Painswick

Painswick is considered the 'Queen of the Cotswolds' with its village centre of tiny streets and cottages. St. Mary's Parish church stands pride of place at its centre surrounded by its ancient 99 yew trees and host to the traditional Clipping Ceremony each September. The local Rococo gardens are also worth a visit.
DAY TWO

Laurie Lee and a walk through the Slad Valley
6.5 miles/10.4 km

Walk from Painswick through Laurie Lee Country. Laurie Lee lived in nearby Slad and his childhood memoir 'Cider With Rosie' has become a modern classic. The countryside here is still much as he would have known it in his boyhood.
DAY THREE

Painswick Beacon and the Washpool Valley
7.5 miles/12 km

This walk takes you to the Iron Age fort above Painswick which was a natural vantage point making it easier to defend, still offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The walk passes through woodlands, valleys and by isolated farmhouses and offers an invigorating walk in this lesser known part of the Cotswolds.
