About Us

COTSWOLD WALKS was founded in 1993 and is owned and operated by husband and wife team Andrew and Elizabeth Guppy. The company remains the leading walking and hiking specialist in the Cotswolds. Their knowledge of the area and its footpaths, tracks and byways is unrivalled - and much imitated.

Meet the Team

We love what we do and take pride in ensuring your tours run smoothly, whether that means answering your questions, solving unexpected challenges, or simply being a reassuring voice on the other end of the phone.

We often get asked if we can meet in person, and while we'd love to, the reality is that most of our time is spent behind the scenes—answering emails, taking calls, and supporting travelers while they're on the road.

But just because you don’t always see us doesn’t mean we aren’t here! So, we thought it was time to put some faces to the names and introduce ourselves properly.

Andrew Guppy

Owner of Cotswold Walks and Expert Local Guide

After many rewarding years as a tour guide for an international travel company, I found it challenging to find a local career offering the same fulfilling experience.

That changed in 2007 when the previous owners of Cotswold Walks sought someone to take over the company.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of growing the business and focusing on what we do best – exploring the beauty of the Cotswolds. Living here fuels my passion for guiding walking and cycling tours, allowing me to spend as much time as possible out of the office, meeting wonderful clients.

I look forward to welcoming you on one of our unforgettable adventures soon!

Adam Torok

Operations Manager and Self-Guided Tour Specialist

I joined Cotswold Walks as the first full-time employee in 2018, working alongside Andrew and Elizabeth to help manage the company’s self-guided tours. I helped establish the administrative systems we still use today, contributing to the foundation of the service we offer our clients. Now, I manage the day-to-day operations of the company and, together with Andrew, help plan new routes and tours. I particularly enjoy crafting customised itineraries, tailoring each one to our clients' needs and ensuring they make the most of their time in the Cotswolds.

I really appreciate working with my colleagues who have a great sense of humour - it makes such a difference and I am sure our clients pick up on this, too!

In my free time, I love walking with my wife, Barbara, and our Hungarian Vizsla, Lotti. I’ve walked the Cotswold Way (102 miles) more than once, with the most memorable being when I completed it in 3 days to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, a cause that’s close to my heart.

I love woodland walks in the Cotswolds; if I had to choose a favourite, it would be Buckholt Woods, on the (in)famous Cooper's Hill.

Barbara Nagy

Business Manager and Guided Tour Specialist

I’ve been with the company since 2019, initially supporting Andrew and Elizabeth with administrative tasks and marketing. Over time, my role has expanded to include a bit of financial administration and HR, and I’ve taken on a more central role in organizing our guided group tours. I really enjoy helping create the best possible experience for our clients, and the positive feedback we receive is such a rewarding part of my job. I also feel fortunate to work with such a supportive and positive team - it makes every day more enjoyable.

Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of hobbies, including walking in beautiful places with my family - my favourite spots are the Cotswolds and Eryri National Park/Snowdonia. I also love training my 2-year-old Hungarian Vizsla, Lotti. When I’m not doing that, you’ll find me gardening, cooking, or baking.

If I had to pick a favourite Cotswolds walk, it would be a tie between the Snowshill and Lower Slaughter circular walks. As for my favourite village, I’m drawn to Snowshill - it’s such a peaceful place, it feels like stepping back in time.

Anna Williams

Office Administrator and Self-Guided Tour Specialist

As the Office Administrator at Cotswold Walks, I work alongside my colleagues to make sure every tour runs smoothly and is exactly what our guests are looking for. Whether it’s planning the details or helping behind the scenes, I love being part of a team that brings the beauty of the Cotswolds to life for visitors.

Broadway is one of my favourite places—there’s nothing better than taking in the view from next to Broadway Tower, then heading to the café nearby for a cream tea. Also I visited Bath this Christmas, and it was a breath of fresh air. It’s a fantastic place for shopping, culture, and, of course, food! Looking forward to going again!

When I’m not at work, I love exploring new places with my dog, Dave—he’s always up for an adventure (or at least some new scents to sniff). I’m hoping to have many more adventures in the future, not just in the Cotswolds, so recommendations are welcome!

Helen Jago

Bookkeeper and Office Administrator

My job title is Bookkeeper and Office Administrator and it is a role that literally changes with the seasons. I love that I get to follow our clients' journeys from helping with the first bookings of accommodations, taxis and luggage transfers, all the way through to tying up all the financial transactions with our suppliers after their tour.

I'm delighted to be a part of the Cotswold Walks team. Going on lunchtime walks with stunning views of the countryside, getting to pet Lotti, the office dog, and working with such an amazing, inspiring, hard-working but fun and supportive team all make coming to work an absolute joy!

Not being a Cotswold native, I have really enjoyed discovering more since working here. Both geology and social history fascinate me, so there is much to keep me occupied and continuing to learn.

When not at work, I love discovering new places with my husband and teenage children, there's still so much of the UK to explore. We like to visit National Trust sites, but anywhere with a good walk followed by good cake is perfect. Although, in the winter, you may equally find me snuggled under a blanket, with a good film, crafting but there will still be cake!

Lydia Linney

Administrative Assistant and Customer Support Specialist

I work closely within our small team to create the most perfect and memorable walking and cycling holidays for our clients. Whether you might like a solo holiday or some time with friends and family, you can rest assured we will be helping you every step of the way to plan and coordinate your Cotswold getaway.

I have lived in Chipping Campden my whole life and hope to live here forever- it's truly beautiful! The Cotswolds is wonderful in all seasons, especially in summer with its flowers and gardens, the cafes and restaurants, not to mention attractions such as the Lavender Farm and Hidcote Gardens.

In my free time, I love a long walk with a big pub dinner at the end of it! I enjoy time with my family and miniature dachshund, Nelly. We hope to explore more long walks with Nelly in and around the Cotswolds (but not too long, she only has tiny little legs!).

The best local knowledge

Living and working in the Cotswolds is an essential part of what makes Cotswold Walks different from our competitors. We are out walking most days with our dog,  Clover and know the area almost as well as she does!

Experience Life - Walking Trips: Amble On!– October 2013, Laurel Kallenbach writes about walking the Cotswold Way National Trail with help from Cotswold Walks.  Read more.

My wife and I were initially circumspect for the need of such detail your guide provided and we laughed at the thought and at some of
the guide’s vocabulary, but a chance meeting with an American couple the night before our first day on the Walk quickly dispelled any
doubt. They had just used your services for their Walk and said to follow the guide and we wouldn’t go wrong. We did, and they were
right! Again, thank you for taking good care of us.
